About Carousell
Carousell is a classifieds marketplace for listing items and connecting with interested buyers. It can be useful for selling belongings or testing demand for a small resale activity.
What the work involves
Use clear photographs of the item and describe any wear or defects. Agree how payment and handover will work before meeting or shipping. Check money in your own account rather than accepting a screenshot as proof that a buyer paid.
₱3,000–₱9,000/month
Buying an item for ₱700 and reselling it for ₱1,100 leaves ₱300 if cleaning, travel and any selling charges total ₱100. Ten to thirty completed sales would generate ₱3,000–₱9,000 before fixed costs and tax. This is a resale scenario. Selling possessions you already own releases cash, but does not establish a repeatable monthly income.

Your questions about Carousell
How can I make a second-hand listing more useful?
Show the actual condition, defects, model and included accessories. Realistic descriptions can reduce disputes.
Should I ship after receiving a payment screenshot?
No. Open your bank or wallet yourself and verify that the payment has arrived. A screenshot, email or message from the buyer is not enough. Only hand over or dispatch the item after you confirm payment through the agreed method.
Do professional sellers follow the same fee rules as casual sellers?
Not necessarily. Professional and casual accounts can have different charges or allowances. Check your account type and category, then include applicable fees in your selling price. Do not use another seller’s fee example as your own cost estimate.
Can I use a payout link sent by a buyer?
Do not enter bank credentials into a page a buyer sends you to receive payment. Open the payment service or platform directly instead. If the buyer insists that you pay a fee or reveal account access first, stop and use the platform’s support or reporting tools.
What details help a buyer assess a used item?
Photograph the actual item from several angles, including wear or damage. Include its model, measurements, condition and any missing accessories. State the collection or delivery arrangements clearly so buyers can decide whether the item fits their needs.
Should I photograph my item vertically or horizontally?
Choose the orientation that fits the item. Carousell recommends landscape images for wider objects such as desks or vehicles and portrait images for taller items such as dresses and bags. Rotate your phone when taking the photo so the item fits naturally in the frame.
Which income records should I keep?
Record what you sold, the original or sourcing cost, the selling price and delivery expenses. Keep occasional sales of personal belongings distinguishable from stock bought for resale. Those details help you assess your situation using the tax guide.
