Getting a job and work permission

Employment-based residence permission

Confirm the current employment residence process with the Migration Department. Do not rely on an older recruiter checklist suggesting that another country’s visa is enough to work in Lithuania.

Check the work application requirements

Complete the Philippine departure process alongside the destination application.

Documents & Requirements

Ordinary employment

The qualification and relevant-experience route differs from an application supported by pay at least equal to the published national average gross wage. A national minimum-wage figure alone is not enough to assess the permit.

When the quota is exhausted

The Migration Department confirmed the 2026 quota was exhausted in September. For affected employment applications outside the quota, the published monthly gross requirement is EUR 2,893.68, or EUR 2,411.40 for a qualifying high-value shortage profession. Check whether the application falls within this rule before relying on a lower-paid offer.
