Working in South Korea

South Korea offers Filipinos a defined government recruitment route through the Employment Permit System. It can be a practical path for eligible applicants, but selection is competitive and departure is not guaranteed by passing a test. The current intake, Korean proficiency and employer matching determine the next steps.

Fields and recruitment routes

  • Manufacturing through EPS. Check DMW’s current manufacturing intake and its skills requirements; recruitment is organised through the official EPS process.
  • Other EPS sectors. Agriculture or other sectors are options only when the Philippine intake includes them. Do not assume every Korean EPS category is open in a given round.
  • Specialist employment. Professional technical work uses a different immigration route; EPS eligibility should not be used to assess a specialist offer.

Major challenges

  • Korean and selection. Language testing and other selection steps precede roster entry; a passing score is not an employment contract.
  • Employer matching. The wait for an employer selection can be uncertain. Avoid treating roster acceptance as a confirmed travel date.
  • Intake eligibility. Age, health, previous-stay and other conditions depend on the official recruitment notice; special rounds are not identical to first-time recruitment.
